Final Temptation: Porsche 944 S2

This looks like the dream: 1990 PORSCHE 944 S2 - Yorkshire Classic & Sports Cars

And just £14495. I don't care it has done over 200'000 miles, it looks superb -  my favourite colour combination.

Alas, it's not the right time for me. I think it's the car you buy when you have at least £30k burning a hole in your pocket (£15k for the car, £15k for any expensive repairs that might arise). I don't have that. The car is out of reach for me (really, any second car is out of reach for me until I've paid of my debts, one car it must be for now.)

When I've paid off -

  • £12k in credit card debt (not paying interest on this yet)
  • £13k personal loan
  • £10k to build up some emergency funds
  • Total = £35k
  • (Also, I'd like to pay of my mortgage ... another £70k to go there)
- then and only then can I think about saving for another car. And by the time I've done all that, I might be thinking of retiring and wanting to minimize expense (i.e. not have to look after a classic car, which deserves a lot of love).

The truth is, I'll never be able to enjoy sportscar ownership whilst I have debts hanging over my head.
