A bit of fun whilst
we're in Coronavirus lockdown. I'm going to use the new Lotus
configurator (go to https://www.lotuscars.com)
to create my dream spec Lotus Elise Sport 220. Disclaimer: I'm absolutely not
planning to change my Lotus at this time.
Slightly tempted to go for 'Radio Blanking Plate with No Speakers Fitted'. In all my Lotus cars (except the Evora), I rarely listen to the stereo. Perhaps I've selected this thinking of future resale... (a dream car should be a car you never sell, unless you're in dire straits.)
This is my dream spec
Lotus Elise Sport 220:
Exterior: Paint:
Isotope Green
Exterior: Carbon
Fibre
Nothing selected
here, Carbon Fibre is nice but expensive, the weight saving benefit
does not really justify the cost. If you really like the look of it and aren't concerned by the expense,
go for it. Most importantly for my spec - I want to select the 'Black
Pack' in the configurator, so Carbon Fibre selections are not
allowed.
Exterior:
Black Pack
Exterior:
Roof: Black Pack Hardtop
Hardtop is included
with the Black Pack. These cars are even more brilliant with the roof
off, so I'd be using the softtop (comes as standard with the Elise)
and taking it off at every opportunity.
Note: Rule of
spec-ing a Lotus Elise - it must look good with the black soft top
on!
Wheels:
Lightweight Black Cast Alloy Wheels
Brake
Calipers: Red Brake Calipers
Brake
Disks: Cross Drilled and Ventilated Brake Discs
(Standard)

Interior:

Carpets:
Black Floor Mats
Interior
Colour Pack: Arctic Silver
Sills:
Black Leatherette (Standard)
Stitch
Colour: Tan (No option)
IP:
Black Leather (No option)
IP
Console: Single DIN Stereo Featuring Bluetooth and DAB
Slightly tempted to go for 'Radio Blanking Plate with No Speakers Fitted'. In all my Lotus cars (except the Evora), I rarely listen to the stereo. Perhaps I've selected this thinking of future resale... (a dream car should be a car you never sell, unless you're in dire straits.)
Climate
Control: Air Conditioning
Steering
Wheel: Black Leather Trimmed Steering Wheel (Standard)
Seats:
Manual Adjust (Fore and Aft) Sports Seat (Standard)
Tempted by the
'Carbon Fibre Sports Seats' but this Elise is going to be more of a
tourer spec (Cup car for track). Again, the performance gain from
lighter seats doesn't really justify the cost.
Battery:
Standard 12V Battery
(Standard)
Cruise
Control: Cruise Control (Standard)
Hardly ever used
the Cruise Control in my Elise/Exiges, but not an expensive option.
Again, perhaps nice for future resale...
Dampers:
Bilstein Tour Dampers
This is a tourer
spec (Cup car for track).

ReplyDeleteOr AcZKB5rM. Pretty much as above but with: Red Alcantara interior, black stitch, gloss black interior elements, no aircon (just something to go wrong and adds weight.) Hmmm... I think Isotope Green is the perfect colour for the Elise.
