Will 2021 be the first year since 2015 where I don't buy a car?

2015 was the last year that passed without me buying a car, then it all went crazy:

  • 2016: 1 car
  • 2017: 3 cars
  • 2018: 5 cars
  • 2019: 5 cars
  • 2020: 4 cars

18 cars over 5 years! And many thousands of pounds lost.

I am optimistic that 2021 will be a year that sees me buying no cars.

I reckon my current two car line up  -

  • 26) 2020 DEC: 2002 ‘Porsche Boxster 986 S’ in Yellow (current sports car)
  • 27) 2020 DEC: 2011 ‘Audi A3 Sportback TDI Quattro Black Edition’ in Black (current practical car)

- is the best line up I've ever had. Not the fastest cars I've had. Definitely not the newest cars I've had, or the most expensive cars I've had. Just a very nice combination of cars for me. I sincerely hope I keep them both forever, and look after them well.

I do hope to one day return to Lotus car ownership with something older than I've had thus far. These are my Lotus fancies:

  • Lotus Esprit S3 Turbo HC (produced 1986-1988)
  • Lotus Elise Series 1 (produced 1996-2001)
  • Lotus 2-Eleven (produced 2007-2011)
